An ageing population, shrinking revenue base from date and palm sales, the need for increased defence spending to counter Egypt, that nearby wannabe world power, and his ballooning NDIS costs all caused grief.
But, with the help of manna from heaven, after those 40 years he somehow led the Hebrews to the land of milk and honey.
