Centuria 8 - Capping off a successful six years
On Thursday clients’ holdings in Centuria 8 were redeemed in full.
As a reminder, Centuria 8 is an unlisted property trust which owns a 50% interest in a commercial office building located in Everleigh, NSW (Sydney’s technology park).
During our period of ownership, the unlisted investment was revalued higher several times, which saw the property double in value. It also provided a strong source of income.
This culminated in a return (before fees and taxes) of approximately 173% since inception (a return of approximately 19% per annum), an exceptional return during a period where the broader listed property sector (XPJAI) returned 41%.
We redeemed our holding as part of an effort to diversify client’s property holdings in an environment where office rents are increasingly being challenged.
